According to the Neuropathy Association, 30% of cases of peripheral neuropathy are causes by diabetes.There are many types of peripheral neuropathy that are brought on by a number of different causes such as, diabetes, infections, nutrition, inflammation, auto-immune diseases, hereditary causes, nerve compression, tumors, certain medications, injuries, exposure to toxic chemicals, and alcoholism.
